Hmmmmmm. I just answered another persons post about protandim and the info I got about it. Then I saw your post and watched the ABC clip. I was going to send her the clip - until I saw this exchange. Here is my info on Protandim:

This will give you the basics on this supplement. There is a member on here who is a distributor and first brought it to my attention. You should search protandim and her info should come up -Nicki.

I have the good fortune to have access to a physician (25 ys as an internist) who has extensive knowledge in holistic health. He is the director of a holisic clinic and reviews and recommends supplements after an extensive review of the supplier and their products. My neuro was happy to refer me to him as he sees a lot of MS patients.

Harvard actually set up and supports this clinic here in Boston. (Part of Brigham and Women's Hospital).

On my first visit I asked him about Protandim. He never heard of it and looked it up right there at my visit. I was so disappointed when he told me 'this is nothing new'. He said this product has ingredients widely known and already available. Looking on their website he had difficulty finding the science behind it and bottom line he was not at all impressed.

I don't put a lot of stock in physicians knowledge and opinions of products like this. But in this case because of his background - and the fact he previously worked for a holistic clinic I was a patient of for some years I respect his opinion.

I think its another 'hyped product' without enough of the helpful ingredients mixed well enough to really be effective. I could be wrong BUT he clearly knew what he was looking at.

I am just sharing my feedback I got when I specifically asked about this product. I still am looking for helpful products and have more questions for him at next visit. I will post. In meantime you may want look at an informative web page I posted on yesterday:

I watched the ABC news clip after writing you and I am back to wondering how helpful this could be. It was a compelling story.

Donny Osmond's oldest brother Alan has MS as does Alan's son. I'm thinking that is why Donny advertises this.

Its so hard to know what to believe in. I have a medical research background and know some things but am by no means a trained scientist.

I am thinking I should contact the Dr. I mentioned again. Let me know if you find any more info.
