Well I have not been dx'ed with MS...YET. I am working on it though so that I dont end up in that next progressive cycle because of the ignorance and indifference of docs.
My spine is ALWAYS hurting. It is so painful. My husband knows that I can pretty well manage all my massaging needs and believe me I have, sometimes massaging my whole body with my massager for hours until I actually fall asleep with the thing still on. Have a "badge of courage" (or stupidity...depends how you look at it ... :-)...) of a 3rd degree burn from the massager overheating on my chest when I fell asleep and I never even felt it. Woke in the AM with charred, reddened deep hole in my skin. Anyway, my husband massages my entire spine for me. It really helps. Also I got this chair massager that is a shiatsu and it is positioned so that it works its way up and down my whole spine. It has a warmth setting and it really helps. I can stretch all ways when I use this and dont feel cramps or kinks.
I hope some of this helps. I know depression by the way. Constant companion for many many years. Hang in there, you are really pretty and if your into yoga you know that you are able to find peace within yourself if you will just let it in. Don't hang on to the depression. I know that it feels comfortable and familiar and therefore hard to let go of but think of it like a really bad relationship where a guy beats you all the time and someday he will end up killing you. You hate to leave cuz he is all you have known for so long and he really has done a number on your sense of self, your whole self esteem is lost because of him. Do you just let him kill you? I would hope now. You get out. Go to a womans shelter. Well in this case you need to get out. Go to a church where the people are welcoming and comforting. Go to a group meeting for others like yourself. They can be found in hospitals usually and all you need to do is call and the volunteer will give you the info of when they meet and so forth. Promise me you will do this frusci. You deserve more than what depression has to offer.....love, tamye
As for depression.. That comes and goes for me in waves. Prozac helps a lot. Also, I find the more fatigued I get the more likely I am to feel deeply depressed, so I try to go to bed early to avoid those late-night-thoughts that creep in.
Anyway, you're not alone. We're all in that same awful boat, but at least we're in it together!
As for the depression, my neuro started me on Cymbalta few weeks ago to actually try to help with the nerve pain. It's done nothing for that so far but I swear it has lifted a lot of the fog and depression. I just feel more alert, having much less bad thoughts, and just generally more at peace. An anti-depressant might not be a bad idea for you.
*hugs* Keep your chin up.
