I've never had a UTI in my life. Well, my first one has struck. I do have trouble starting my flow sometimes and other times I feel like I haven't emptied completely. Monday I started having difficulty going at all and by 5pm I was running a fever. Went to the walk in clinic and they said I had nitrates, leukocytes and blood in my urine and put me on 3 days of Cipro. They sent it for a culture to make sure I was on the right antibiotic and I should hear back today or tomorrow.
Should I report this to my neuro since it's my first one or should I wait and see if it recurs? Also, does 3 days of Cipro seem like enough?
As a side note, I read the warnings on the prescription label and WHOA! this seems like a nasty drug. Not sure I want to be on it longer than 3 days.

But since you don't cath, 3 days is probably enough for Cipro. The pharmacist is always the best person to ask about drugs.
Yes, tell the neurologist. He may want to refer you to a urologist. That way, you can get to empty your bladder completely and it will be a much better feeling.
