I know lesions in the brain can't be felt, but what about lesions in the thoraxic or lumbar areas?
Please don't think i'm stupid but I've been having pain in my spine between my shoulders off and on for months now, and I just realized last night when it happened that I always have other symtoms return when this happens in my spine.
Last night the pain in my spine was really bad and when I finally sat down for the evening I had the worst burning sensation in my feet and ankles and my ankles were real swollen.
The last time (a week ago) I had this pain in my spine, I had terrible pain in my left leg from knee to foot. On the side of my knee and leg it felt like my bones were rubbing together when I tried to walk and the pain was unbearable. Even laying in bed and just moving my leg was really painful.
This lasted a day and a half.
I had three compression fractures in my thoraxic area two years ago, could this just be arthritis settling in ? I'm just so confused as to why this pain brings back other symptoms. Could it be a lesion causing this pain in my spine?
Just don't want to look foolish to my Neuro or New RA specialist I'm seeing on Wed. and say anything stupid. I trust you all on DS and know you won't make fun of me for asking this.

My neurologist has scheduled another MRI but has told me what he believes is happening is swelling in my spinal cord. I'm on massive doses of IV steroids right now which I'm told will bring the swelling down.
Whatever you are feeling don't ever feel stupid asking the doctor about any symptoms or fears. Remember you are paying him to do his job. Get a new doc immediately if you feel uncomfortable or feel like you can't ask questions. This is something you will be dealing with for a long time so be sure you have the right supportive team. I'm feeling numb in my right leg as well.
Definitely speak to your doc about all of this.
