I have no diagnosis yet. Doc is treating me as tho I have migraines. I am pretty sure that is not the case. I have been having an episode since Wednesday. I saw my GP that day and asked for some Valtrex for a cold sore. While I was on the Valtrex, all of my symptoms with my episode got better. They were still there, but not so bad that I couldn't walk. I will take this info to my neuro. I am just wondering, what do the MS meds do. I have been having more and more episodes and they almost don't even let up. If I were on Copaxone, would it make them stop or lessen them like the Valtrex did? Today, since not taking Valtrex as that was a one day thing, I am not doing well again. Need the walker again and have my twitching really bad again.

I have never heard of anyone feeling better from their MS symptoms with the dose of Valtrex. I think you are just coincidentally feeling better for a day or so, and then like you mention, bam, you are down again.

Taking the MS meds like (copaxone) don't make you feel any better from the flares/exasperations. The medication is just suppose to stabilize your MS progression. It would benefit you to do some research on the MS Society webpage to learn more about MS.

I read a bit about Valtrex and it has a calming effect on nerves. So, I am wondering if that is what it did to me. Not sure....maybe just a coincidence after all though.
