I've had prednisone in the past but always the tapering pack. This time my Dr called in 100mg 2xs per day for 7 days. Just wondering if anyone here has done this. I'm terrified of steroids but I have ON & my Dr wants to hit it hard.

The scripts that the pharmacist thought my nuro miswrote, cause for someone to take 25 pills a day is just crazy! so they had problems getting me the pills that first day; but my Dr. called them and sent over studies explaining why the 1250mg of prednisone was similar to the IV steroids.
The pills did help stop my attacks of ON and the sudden leg weakness/ being completely dead to me or at least start to stop it within 3 days of my taking those icky pills.
My only complaints with the pills is the sick taste of them and the NEED to be very close to the bathroom the week after them too.

That seems like an awlfull low dose especially for ON. Eas it your neuro or Optho who order'd them? My PCP had me take a bigger dose than that for 2 weeks for a sinus infection. The last time I had problems with my eyes and headaches he had me take IV infusion of 1000 for 3 days but that was my neuro. I hope it is enough and that he gave you something to help sleep. I also do pulse steroids every 6 weeks and the strength is 500 for 3 days. I do wish you the best and hope that it is strong enough to help, but this is just my opinion and hope someone with more experience chimes in with better advice.
