yes, I was just called yesterday about this. I did it one year, and ever since then, they call me yearly. I just can't do it this year. I get enough support from family walking the walk, I just can't see myself begging for more money.

what tf?! who calls and asks you to do their job? i am just curious...

I agree, my family and friends can hardly afford the bills now.I would feel bad to ask them for money :(

The MS Society called me. I refused to answer the phone from them for three days, when I finally said they won't give up and answered it. They were persistent in reaching me. I knew what they wanted because that is the only time they call, is for the yearly fund raising drive.

I'm with you as far as asking my family and friends for money. Things are so tough now financially for everyone. I participate by supporting family members who do the yearly walk in my home town, and I think that is all that I can do financially.

A lot of organizations do that - Lupus Foundation, Heart Association, etc. I did it last year and sent primarily to family and a few neighbors whom I've known a long time. I haven't "come out" to everyone yet so my list was limited. When they called me this year, I declined. I told them I didn't want to hit the same people up every year.

Yup, I've gotten the phone at least 10 times & each time I said that I would send the letters out. However, I have never gotten the letters. When I was called a few days ago, I told them that I was not going t send the letters out because I have always said that I would but never received the letters. Because I would not again say that I would not send the letters based on their lack of keeping their end of the deal, I was asked to give a $100.00 donation. I said no and they started giving me a guilt trip so I hung up. I wonder if they will call again next year.
