Health insurance is a big headache. Obama's plan included eliminating pre-existing conditions. Don't know when that is supposed to take effect.
One idea I have is to call the insurance commision in your state and ask for thier recommendation or resources.
Sometimes states have their own insurance for people in your situation. It's called a High Risk Pool. Ask about that.
Do you qualify for Medicare or Medicaid?
Good Luck

I'm not sure what HP is and I think it's your insurance carrier and remember the cheaper the insurance the higher your copays and $289 is cheap, just remember insurance companies don't make money off sick people. What p's me off when I was working I had to pay for medicare ins. and now that I'm on SSDI I still have to pay for insurance out of my disability check. Most states have a high risk poll insurance but I've read that people are paying $500 + a month. While I had no insurance almost all my meds were through the Patient asisstance programs and some will help if your under insured and can't afford them
