Basically housebound and only able to drive a couple of miles limits opportunities to make friend or even to get to support groups. If I can get there great *support*, if not well *no support*. Stop going to church as too overstimulating to system, besides I don't believe you have to be in one. One of my best friends, basically stopped talking to me because I change the way I believe. I just realize she wasn't my friend... I was hers but she wasn't mine.
So what does one do? I been trying to get out if its not raining on weekend just to meet people within 2 mile radius. Takes all my energy and so far ... I just keep trying when I can. The other is to start my own group as there isn't a social support group/meeting in my area that I can do. I'm sure there are singles out there if similar situation (maybe empty nest) wondering what to do. I think started by own has a better chance.
This is the only place where I can develop simple friendships.
Blessings to you all!
So yes, know the feeling!
And, like RavenousWolf, I haven't been in a work environment for awhile, and that makes it worse!
I have met some amazing people that have more than made up for the people that I thought were my friends that never come around any more.
Just saying! I know not every one has this same opportunity!
its as a good place.
Basically all my friends are online which helps. I do computer art and made online friends but the truth is I need human person to person human interaction. Family is going through grieving and just a hard time they don't live close by except oldest son. Now, found out my father has high PSA and awaiting to hear the diagnosis. I just pray it not cancer. I wish I could find new hobbies ... I have no one to take me to them. I have a free membership at health club but can't get there. I have to keep hope, keep trying and keep a positive attitude.
