Depends if you have had one on one interview yet? They told me 3-4 months also, got a call same month...approved.

GeminiAmy, mine personally: I went in applied for disability in personal. They told me I would hear something within 120days. The next week I received 2 forms. One for me to fill out on my daily activities and the other for my Dr. to fill out on my strength. (some get those forms early, some get it in weeks later. I think it depends on how fast your SSI processes it) Once I filled those forms out, I mailed and faxed them to SSI. I checked on line often the status of it. When it said a decision was made within a few days I got a letter that I was found medically approved and it gave me a date (the date I stopped receiving a work paycheck) but they needed more information. Basically to verify my wages, children, etc. My appt was the next week, I was told that day I would get back pay and I was approved. They then told me how much I would get and when. Dont think you will hear something before 120 days. They make you wait right at 120 days.

fyi~ here in GA, SSI says you cant make over $1000 a month and get SSI. So I stopped working April 10th. However since I got paid on the 1st and 15th of the month and I made over $1000.00 a month they said my back pay would begin on May 3rd. I think thats because thats when my paycheck actually went in the bank. SSI said if I made less than $1000.00 a month then my back pay would of started the day I was diagnosed which was April 7, 2011. So basically since I was able to work a yr after I was diagnosed I dont get SSI for that. Which makes it right. Why pay me if I was able to work? I worked as long as I could.
Did you have a spinal tap done? Was it positive? Here is Ga, for SSI Medicare requires a positive spinal tap. I believe you can still get it with out a positive spinal tap, you just have to appeal and fight a little harder.

Also....alot depends on how soon your dctors offie replys back with their portion to fill out.
And I am almost ashamed to say why I think I got mine so quickly. It turned out my disability caseworker....her mother-in -law and best friend have MS. I have NEVER heard of anyone getting approved same month. I did.

No interview yet,should I expect one? And should I expect an exam?

In Wv, and forgive my memory it it bad.I called on the phone, they sent me some stuf in the mail to fill in and they gave me an in person interview where I took in my bag of medications and made sure they had all my docs name and they would send for the medical.I had some medical tht I took w me and they made copies, also take your drivers license, ss crd etc-tthings listed on letter. I did not want to do intrview on phone am HOH and process better face to face- then someone sent me info in the mail like a review of my interview and the disability examiner who sent me the review was in another state.I had to call him bk after I reviewed letter to tell hin they spelled one doctor name wrong and left off one of my doctors.
