Multiple Personalities Support Group
Dissociative identity disorder is a diagnosis described as the existence in an individual of two or more distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. At least two of these personalities are considered to routinely take control of the individual's behavior, and there is also some associated memory loss,...
Which side of you are these cognitive distortions coming from? I would like to respectfully disagree.
You yourself have helped me so much with my cognitive distortions... You taught me CBT strategies... Eg. . what are the chances that you're a sack of poop and worthless?? Turns out, not very high.
In fact, turns out... You're amazing, super funny, so sweet, so sensitive, supportive, kind, caring, the kind of person I would want in my support network, a friend :-)
((((We love you hylie)))
Anyone reading this post, please send hylie a hug of support!
I sent the funny face because hylie can really make me laugh and that is a gift for someone like me.
Yeah, I really do hate being me that much.
I've been physically ill for so long I've forgotten what it's like to not be exhausted and mentally in a fog...I'm so tired...I got sick in 2002.
Since 2008 I've been all trauma, all the time...when not being busy being sick...and I'm angry at myself for being a goddamn weakling who can't work a second job like everyone else I work with.
Everyone else does it, but I'm too much of a special fucking snowflake. So I'm stuck working ONE job!
I can't pay bills on one job!
-if we as humans are capable of believing in 'ideas or things' that are NOT reality based, wouldn't this include the beliefs we have about ourselves?
- Beliefs can be changed if we are willing to accept new information and set aside old beliefs, true?
- so isn't one of the objectives on therapy to speak directly to the side of ourselves that is holding on tightly to incorrect beliefs and replace them with new ones?
but here I am and every day I fight and try.i also sometimes allow a day to be sad/upset/whatever. I find sometimes it helps.
for what its worth, we value and appreciate you!
Being chronically ill on top of being somewhat nuts is really sucky.
My therapist gave me an idea one day. she said get some markers that write on glass and leave pretty words for yourself on your mirror. I was surprised that it actualy helps (have always hade bady issues). i also (and i had done this for a long time) print out quotes, affermations, words of wisdom all pretty like and put them all over the wall in my living room and bed room where i see them every day. I still remember the day i looked at them and litterally said "Shit! They Sunk In!"
you are wonderful. you were the first to friend me. Thank you for being YOU!
