So I recently found out the detective that involuntarily committed me November 7 of 2011 when I went to file charges on a man(who has a criminal record of domestic violence and child abuse)who raped my child is related to the first man on my list of perpetrators I brought to the police station that same day.This detective actually hid this from her superior and when I confronted her with her superior in the room she sat there in silence with no way of defending her actions.This same detective also took my daughter into a room alone,interrogated her and told her she was lying about being molested before they brought her to the childrens advocate that same day. This effectively silenced her while she was at the childrens advocacy that day.My daughter has since completed another forensic interview with a completely different childrens advocacy where she disclosed everything about both the men who raped her.This corrupt detective also obstructed justice in the other case with my daughter which involves my brother(who is a registered sex offender) assaulting her.After I confronted her in front of her superior she sent all of my records to the detective in charge of the investigation in a completely different state claiming that I was a drug addict.It is sad but this is what survivors have to contend with when seeking justice to the wrongs that have been done to us.

im so glad you shared this, it makes me feel like im not going crazy in this insane world...

it reminds me of the sexual abuse that goes on the military to both men and women...and how there is little or no justice for the victims...they play by their own rules and "rights" just dont exist.

im so sorry you experienced this....im so sad that you are not alone

Thank you John.I just found out today that the detective for the case with my brother either was fired or left his job and I found out recently the other detecive lost her job in December of 2012.Our judicial system is inundated with people like this.There really needs to be thorough psychological evaluations as a requirement for people such as detectives, DA's and judges so revictimization by the judicial system does not occur.As it stands now and from what me and my daughter have experienced it seems as though the judicial system and our society as a whole system mirrors an abusive family dynamic.When survivors stand up and seek justice they are pushed down by either abusers or abuse victims in denial that work in the judicial system.This needs to change.

i am sorry for you I want to tell my story but I am so afraid of my abusive family,, I am not crazy I am a survivor and taught school with a stellar record but because of my mental health history I am afraid I am so tired of being afraid ,, they say the truth will set you free, I do not see DID as a mental health deal if being treated , Just a childs way of surviving I do believe as adults we have protectors and we cannot make excuses for acting out,, DID with a conscience is a miracle from God I want to be the poster child for DID I know I will be taking a massive risk but I am almost 58 want to help others,, and believe my story about overcoming could save lives especially those being bulllied but even as a teacher I am afraid to speak why is that can anyone offer some insight and support thanks warrior

You are completely right Spirit. DID is not a mental health issue but a coping mechanism for dealing with an insanely abusive world.The psychiatric community likes to go by the mantra that everyone has mental health issues but what governs if we are trully mentally ill is how functional we are in society.Many people function well in society while having DID.As a matter of fact one of the first articles I read when I learned I had DID was from a woman who before she discovered she had Poly-Fragmented DID( the most severe form of fragmentation) she was appointed the youngest woman head of the state department.I think there needs to be change in thinking from how functional in society and how financially successful we are to how happy and functional we are as human beings in life.Our ability to love and be loved and protect ourselves from abusers. It is understandable that you would fear speaking out.One of the main ways abusers program our alters in to silence is to tell them they will be rejected if they ever tell.This programming and fear of rejection haunts us until we finally demolish it within ourselves.

I've shared this before but not recently. When my granddaughter was much younger her mother had a convicted child rapist babysitting her. My son was never married to her. We brought her to court. She said in court that most of her friends were registered sex offenders and the judge ordered cps to investigate. After their investigation they let her retain custody. So much for the legal system.

If DID is such a wonderful proof of our ability to cope, then why does it bother us so much that we join a support group to overcome having it?
