The storm was bad, but uptowners are doing good! We even have power. That's the not case all over New York though. Most of downtown is flooded.

They're saying it will be the end of the week before the subways are usable. Some of them are flooded all the way to the ceiling.

It's pretty nuts. I live within walking distance to work, so I will be going in tomorrow. It'll be good for me to get things moving again.

I think only 5 people in the US died (I think they were all in the NY area), but the islands in the Caribbean had over 60 deaths. It's weird to see this whole city shut down. I've lived here five years and nothing seems to be able to stop us from functioning. It's crazy.

I live close to Boston, but inland enough that the power only flickered. As of this morning there were 300,000 without power in Massachusetts.

our news report 2 days ago said it was snowing at the western edge of the storm and that some areas could expect up to 2m (6.5ft) of snow over 24 hours. Hard for me to even imagine
