I read about this online. It's what happened between me and my mother after my father tried to ???touch me? have sex with me? I don't know what he was trying to do but he told me and (he said) my mother all about it, and that he had told me that he told her (you can just hear the incest)--he did a) try to touch my right breat and b) come up to my room the next morning and start giving me a backrub, I was naked except for my underpants; and he told me that he was fantasizing about me and "could barely keep his hands off of me."
This was the late 70's when sexual morality was going wild but this one takes the cake. I think he really thought he was doing something that was ok.
My mother knew, of course, that it wasn't. She was angry and jealous, for one thing, that I didn't understand until much later. Before that, although there was neglect and incest issues between me and my brother, masturbation ENCOURAGED (It's your business what you think about masturbation but I'm sure you can imagine that it's NOT okay for your mother to encourage it from an early age); still, in her own way my mother was a kind person before that, just disturbed herself.
I was disabled and very dependent on her. What happened with my Dad put a wedge between us. This kind of "parental alienation" is described by a doctor I read online as equivalent in every way to TORTURE for the child.

I can imagine it would be hard on the child for a parent to pull away, not the other way around like it's supposed to be. In the teen years, the child is supposed to pull away from the parent--not the other way around.

parental alienation I have been wondering about this. It seems when woman trie to pull there children away from abusive fathers this lie is created to protect the perpatraters and further abuse the children. I cant say weather or not it is real. It seems bad like false memory syndrome stuff. I dont know I have a topic to ask my therapist about now.

Yup. I can relate to that one, too...especially the anger and jealousy part. Except I don't remember my dad doing anything to me, just had a good emotional bond with him despite his own issues. Somehow, I could see past that, see his suffering from the constant badgering from my mother. My mother had my sister and my older brother on her side. So, loving my dad cost me the jealousy and vengeance from all three of them. Now, WHERE did that core personality go???
