I have been in your place many a times and I have been seeing a therapist as well who specializes in this field. I would suggest if you have tried internal communication? IC is what I used to do a lot and basically just taking time to listen to what they have to say and need. Usually when I dissociate it’s because something is triggering me or I am triggered by someone or something that I don’t want to deal with. By leaving and allowing them to take over I am not dealing or choosing to not deal with the issue. What happens during this time is lack of co conscious and also losing time and energy from me as a whole. When others take over sometimes it’s chaotic and it’s normal to feel the pain and disassociation. However if it causes a lot of pain it’s something that you need to address since it’s an avoidance avoidance approach. You have done the work of identifying that you are leaving and dissociating and that’s a big step. It took me a while as well to realize the parts I have they are segmented for my own personal benefit due to trauma that I could not deal with. The facets of yourself needs you but sometimes it’s a behavior and time we need to put in to learn about them and see what we are getting triggered with and go from there. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of any more help. Thanks
