keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers
this must be such a hard thing for you to have to deal with? To be scared for your mom
am i the kevin you mentioned?
if i'm not - would it be ok if i respond anyway?
i don't have any magic solutions for you. With my friend that cut and stuff - she lives in a different state to me, but we're also skype friends. I used to sit with her at nights on skype when she was overwhelmed with the need to cut, and we would try to distract her until she was tired enough and sleepy enough to go to sleep.
a few times we played online GO together. But she always kicked my sorry ass at it (can't remeber ever beating her) and i kinda sulked cos i was about 58 year old and she was 18 and i hated never winning. It's not a good look whan an old man sulks fir what ever reason
lol
so we stopped playing that
other times we played '# Questions: Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil' where you get to ask each other 3 Q's in a row. And you have to tell the truth in your answers. But you get 3 get out of jail free's each with it and don't have ot answer. She found that was a good distraction,
other times we watched youtube vids of things she was interested in - mathematics and philospher etc - especially funny ones. Anything to distract long enough till she was able to sleep.
does your mom have any friends that could do this with her? Just be with her and engage with her (even if only online) so she isn't isolated within her hurts? So she doesn't spend too much time alone when she's feeling so vulnerable? And can distract her when she needs distarcting? I think this can be so important and it worked for my friend, as far as i know pretty much most of the time
sorry i can't offer any magic solutions for you, Harmony - but don't forget - there are lots of good pople here on DS that really like your mom and may have better ideas on how you can be there for your mum, and help her
kevin
after reading Tyzz's response i realise i may have misunderstood what you were saying. Are the evil people still doing bad things to your mom?
kevin
Your mum is very courageous, she has a good therapist, she is going to win.One day, these evil people's actions will only be past memories .
To reply 3, "after readindTyzz' s response",addressed to K2 sharp, this is called a Freudian slip of the tongue, as anybody with common sense will realise by carefully readind the last two replies.
Kevin, i owe you an apology.
i've not known many other kevins in my life. Plus, i forget that people here aren't necessarily a single gender. Not being multiple i often make such mistakes. And regret them. I hope i didn't offend you - if i did i really am sorry
