as for starting a new relationship, u know how to do it! you just give them little pieces, put a little trust in them, start small, and see what they do with it. not just their reaction but how they treat you the next day or the next month.
I felt much the way you do, too...and at 48 years old, I found one of those myself.
Better late than never!!!!
It takes a WHOLE LOT of work and determination, but if you both stick with it and learn to pull each other out of the ditch you push each other into, it gets more and more rewarding as it goes.
