Multiple Personalities Support Group
Dissociative identity disorder is a diagnosis described as the existence in an individual of two or more distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. At least two of these personalities are considered to routinely take control of the individual's behavior, and there is also some associated memory loss,...
You are not alone in your feelings of being tired of not knowing what is wrong and not knowing how to fix it. For many years I struggled with not knowing what was wrong until a friends suggested she saw me switching with which I flat out denied. It wasnt until a therapist had me do some opposite handed homework that my alter personalities made themselves known and I was able to move forward. Whether this is the case for you remains to be seen but it is an awfully confusing, frustrating and down right anger provoking time whilst you find a diagnosis that can eventually be started to be worked on. Nothing is wrong with you your just not getting the right help you need and like I said this is frustrating.
Keep pushing your dr for a diagnosis so that then you can start reading up on your diagnosis and what you can do to help yourself. If youre not happy with your psych find someone else. I know this isnt easy as Im currently in the process of switching psychiatrists but I hope in the end it will be worth it.
As hard as it is just be patient.
you may be mis-diagnosed, it happens a lot - i work in mental health - there's a lot of over-lap of symptoms. among the hardest, from what i see and patients tell me to deal with is anxiety - people feel like they're going to fly apart or want to crawl out of their skin and can't seem to stay still.
you sound like you're having one hell of a time with it right now. i hope you have coping skills that help, if venting is one you can let go here. people care and will listen.
it makes sense that you're angry and upset, dealing with a mental illness is no walk in the park and not knowing what's wrong and not finding something that helps much only makes it worse. you can always find support here though.
i hope you're feeling better, take care.
Either way, if you don't have a therapist right now, it might be a good time to find one. Especially if what your landlord said, has pushed a nerve button for you. That tells you there is something, whatever it is, that "triggered" you...and caused you distress.
