Multiple Personalities Support Group
Dissociative identity disorder is a diagnosis described as the existence in an individual of two or more distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. At least two of these personalities are considered to routinely take control of the individual's behavior, and there is also some associated memory loss,...
I think when unaware sadly, the cycle of abuse continues to go rampant in our lives. I'm sad to hear that the people you love and surround your life with have suffered the same. I think in occult families, this is true, though not mine. It's amazing what manipulation and control of abuse does to someone. Your correct, the only way to stop it is to take a stand, scream out the atrocities, call out the abusers and MOST OF ALL recognize those patterns that keep us bound to abusers in the first place.
I believe that we should teach our children good/bad touch and that it's ok if they were wrong about what they felt, it is ok for them to come to us. It infuriates me that teachers are getting away with abusing kids because they are "authority" figures. As for sex education, I'm not so sure. the only sex education I had was my father and family and knowing what was "wrong" came in part from that "education". I do believe that it can be simplified sex education and MORE education about bad touch as you said. As for violent crimes we hear you Wheezie and raise you five sistah! :)
What about taking the violence off the TV, ads, and in news? What about making the TIME FIT THE crimes? I've seen a man get 6 yrs jail time for r@ping his daughter and parole in ? Meanwhile she serves a life sentence of pain, torture in the cell of her mind. Where is that fair or just? No wonder men take the risk. I differ from you on my abusers in one area.. once a sociopath, always a sociopath! My father wasn't abused sexually and yet CHOSE to abuse me. Even if he did, I was so severely abused by them and by the cult and I'm not freaking abusing children! I don't think ANY amount of therapy can save these people from abusing others if they have it in them. However, getting help for young children who have been abused and are reacting to that trauma is essential. I agree with you that abuse is so rampant in society and if we can minimize or end it, life would be so much better in our communities. For now we should ask the question why as communities SO MANY people are coming forward having been abused, where did the system of protection and reporting go wrong? Where have we failed in education our children not to fear, even if their feelings turned out to be wrong?
Good topic.

on a child b/c it was no one's business what went on behind closed doors. Savage beatings were disguised as "discipline" and therefore
condoned.
Children were threatened with death if they "told'. So, the cycle of
abuse went on. Now, people are encouraged to report abuse but
if the scars and bruises are under the clothing it is not seen, so what is there to report?
That's the way it was for Alexandra and no one ever helped her.
We did, but it was almost too late.
