Dissociative identity disorder is a diagnosis described as the existence in an individual of two or more distinct identities or personalities, each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment. At least two of these personalities are considered to routinely take control of the individual's behavior, and there is also some associated memory loss,...

I'm wondering what her motivation is for doing this, and what she thinks the benefit to you-all would be?
I'm really puzzled.
I do remember you mentioning you had an alt that is a voodoo priestess.
Just a thought...since you've been dragged to a church by your "Christian" family...maybe this is done in a sort of rebellion and staking of identity?
After all, your family is vicious...but I bet they walk in there every Sunday heads held high, don't they?
Like sugar wouldn't melt in their mouths...*barf*
Satanism and Voudoun are only related in that the first is basically a negation of Christianity, while the other is African with a thin veneer of Catholicism.
I do not suggest Satanism for anyone...from the few Satanists I have met it draws really, REALLY malignant people to it.
Voudoun really ought to be practiced starting under the mentorship of someone who is kindhearted and of good will, as otherwise you're not going to learn correctly.
FWIW, I once went to a lefty political rally and noticed the energy of one of the men speaking...he had dreadlocks, was wearing all white...He was a lawyer as well.
He emanated a happiness and peace I still find striking.
It was only years later that I found out that Voudon priests often wear all white...hmm...
If we can make other people nervous, or a little afraid of us, they are less likely to try to hurt us, right? And that's where the protector role comes in.
However, they can also make our other alts nervous, and cause additional problems within the inner family, which is the opposite of protecting them. One should also consider why the friend of yours (the "student") would want to learn such things... Possibly because she is an abuse victim also? "Teaching" her can only lead to one of two end results: Either the power inherent in being called a teacher may lead to you bullying or abusing her in some way, or she may try also to use this new role of hers to keep people at bay instead of working on healing.
Neither path promotes healing, but rather delays it. And trust me... I suffered with the effects of abuse until my mid-thirties, and if you can get started healing before that, I really hope you'll be well before that age. You deserve the opportunity to enjoy your twenties and thirties, instead of living with fear and flashbacks. Only you can decide how to make that happen. Ella, as a protector, will abide by whatever you choose.

@ Wheezie...That does not sound like a love charm.
If it was a love charm, you would have likely found some sort of herbal mix, or a curse-you would have tossed the jar because upon opening it, what was in there would have stunk.
Salt is used for purification-for instance, tracing a line of salt across all the entrances to your home.
If I were to put something symbolic of someone in a pot of salt, it would be with the idea of purifying my life of this malignant person.
Okay (puts up pointy hat) off-topic-ness over....
