We do mindfulness meditation and being aware and in the present moment as well and find that as you said, very helpful. There's an excellent book about it called "Full Catastrophe Living" by, Jon Kabat Zinn that has helpful ideas along this subject as well.
We find Tai chi and Qigong highly meditative stress reducing as well as a form of dynamic meditation by way of movement. Interesting topic.
