I write things on the paper, & discover who is writing by what they say, & different alters use different colors to write in.
They usually write just what they think or feel, like Sexy Monica will tell who she's attracted to. Monica (the angry one) will say, "I HATE having to do housework!!" Jo (the intellectual one) will make diagrams of things for making decisions. The Little Ones will ask, "Do you still like me? Will you still work with me now?" and NoName (the Autistic one) will make black angry scribbles on the page to express his wordless depression.

i have alters and i leave pads of paper in everyroom. i have been in an uproar the last few months and they are really usept and scared because one of them is remembering things outloud, so to speak and sharing things with everyone. urgh. it is difficult to explain. sorry.
but i leave the paper out and usually at night they will write to me. i can relate to what someone mentined earlier about they all have their own color and handwriting.
journaling is very difficult but in many ways a great source of communication.
my therapist can talk to them in our sessions they like her and trust her, which has taken a long time.
take care, kathy
