I understand what you mean about thinking it could drive you crazy...I still feel that way some days!
~talk to the hand, or call waiting, because the rest of us aren't listening! LOL
it's like buttons on a phone. if you'd like to speak to a protector press @#$% anger buttons
to reach a little ~ press 1, 2, and 3 and listen to them count to 4, 5 and 6
to reach someone who cares stay on the line and listen to dead silence. LOL
we're not crazy mean lazy or dumb~ we're brilliant!
so there. folds up my arms in resistance. LOL

Having a good dialog in your journal and setting up boundaries will help the inner chaos subside. The idea is communication, not control. They all have needs. Look at my Skyln... I feel badly she was locked in all those years, but now she had needs. I'm an educator of elementary kids as well and I hear you there. Hang in. Again, I'm so sorry.
~K of DEstany's House and Skyln too

And so they do, but as Kaydee says, it's now time to sit down together and work out a plan to insure safety and sanity. Promising each their time to have a safe activity is great, and works wonders. Make sure you uphold your promises, and explain why it's not okay for anyone to pop out while you're driving, or at work, etc.
I still get periods of arguing and fighting over time, but they have come to understand when it's safe to come out and when it's not, so even though it can get noisy, I feel more secure knowing that someone's not going to try to force me aside at a bad time.
Time is what it takes, my friend. Be gentle with yourself and know that if you've gotten to this point, it's because you're doing something right. Things will continue to get easier as your communication keeps improving and everyone learns (in their own time) who to cooperate and make life better.
Hugs,
