Yes it is totally possible. I have an alter that is blind.She is blind because when she was assaulted it was completely dark.I also have deaf and mute alters as well.I have a deaf one as a coping mechanism not to hear my parents constant verbal arguments and I have a mute one that was developed to not tell the horrible secrets of my family.

Ombre1 is nightblind and has no perifial vision and is near sided becouse there is a lot in life she refuses to see so she has gradully lost her eye sight. Her vision seems to be changing though acording to her willingness to see whats going on and has gon on in her life.

Yes BlackRose I hope it helps you to know that your not alone on this. We had a blind alter for various reasons as well from abuse and although I am deaf in the left ear recently as a result of brain surgery, I have a deaf alter and a mute ones as well. The interesting thing is that two of my other alters seem to know what Sabriel is thinking and she was recently created a few months ago.

Since abuse attacks the core of our senses, it's not unlikely that this would happen or that any of us would become, deaf, mute or blind in order to survive. Like the quote, " Hear no evil, see no evil, Speak no evil eh?"

Yeah its amazing how DID can work. i was doing some research on DID at the end of last year and on youtube it showed how one person with DID was officially diagnosed as blind. However, the psychiatrist proved on the the video that some of the alters were able to see. So if the body can be legally blind and the alters can see it would be no surprise that alters can be blind/deaf. or disabled in any other way.
