Keep hydrated, as you begin chemo many cancer cells will be destroyed and the waste needs to be flushed away.

Dex is a rocket ride and it is far easier to use the energy to be silly and dance around than to be angry and mean.

Be aware of your lower belly for unusual pain, dex can cause intestinal perforations (possible but not terribly common)

As Bamb00 stated, the Dex can be somewhat of a wild ride. If they can divide the dose, better. My hubby was up 72 hours straight with a 40 mg dose each Monday. So we asked to divide it 20mg on Monday 20 Mg on Thursday. Much less problems with sleep. It can make you wired, and that leads to exhaustion, so make sure you do rest when you can. Best of luck.

Hi, I had the same treatment last fall with the addition of Doxil. You have got good advice on Dex, a couple of things I experienced... Constipation, shingles, and insomnia. Lorazapam really worked well helping me go to sleep at night and for constipation I found that a product called Swiss Kriss worked really well. You can find it at health food stores, also 6 oz of prune juice mixed with 1oz of orange juice warmed up worked well too. This treatment can compromise your immune system as well. I got shingles after my second cycle. I don't know how common that is, but it isn any fun to have while going through treatment. Learn the signs of shingles and you will be able to treat it before it gets too bad. Keep that positive attitude and take care.
