Multiple Myeloma Support Group
Multiple myeloma (also known as MM, myeloma, plasma cell myeloma, or as Kahler's disease after Otto Kahler) is a type of cancer of plasma cells, immune system cells in bone marrow that produce antibodies. Its prognosis, despite therapy, is generally poor, and treatment may involve chemotherapy and stem cell transplant. It is part of the broad group of diseases called...
That sounds great. How long will you be doing chemo or are you done for now? How many years will they keep your stem cells "under ice" I was told they will keep my surplus for 5 years. I am looking forward to summer too. Monday will make 2 weeks on Revlimid for me, this past week I have had a little stomach discomfort, but I dont know if it is the Meds or my work enviroments, Lately I had some exposure to mold and dust areas. I wear a respirator and try to be careful.
Have a good weekend.

Friday was my last day until after the collection next month. I guess I'm doing 1 or 2 more full (3 months) cycles each. I'm not sure how long they will keep my cells, I'll have to check again. Are you taking the Rev at night? Be careful working in those areas, don't want to get an infection. How long has it been since your transplant? Looks like you back into the swings of things.
I thought PN was from the Velcade. I too am on the 25mg of Rev. I had such a hard time the beginning with pain and side effects, that this is minimum to me or at least I try not the complain. I know I'll never get use to the numbing in my toes, and sometimes fingertips. I just reflect on how bad it was in the beginning. The Steroids are make me swell and they said that once I start again, I'll be on a lower dose and that should help as was as well my mood swings. My patience is not the best and try to mindful of that. Although it does not work all the time...lol.. Let me know how the collection goes and good luck with everything.
I have been taking Rev 5mg in the morning, was there a reason that you were taking it at night? I figured I would take it with a full stomach and being active. I am trying to be very careful, but in my line of work it is very hard. Thurs and Fri I worked at a house not lived in for 3 years, it had mouse droppings, mold, a nasty crawl space with one big spider that I saw. I am in the wrong business to be scared of spiders. The things i'll do for a dollar : )
Oh well I know in Heaven there will be no spiders (I hope) : )
The steroids do seem to effect your emotions, something to be aware of when you go off chemo and all meds. Sometimes it is a downer.
Hope everyone has a good week, Spring is here in Maine. Birds are everywhere, peepers are peeping, and things are sprouting.

The Rev does make me sleepy. I was advised by the Pharmacy to take it a night before bed. I hope to get a good break from all the meds, at least until after the summer or near the end of it. Be careful working, I surveyed an apartment complex where every unit smelled moldy. I even saw mold in one unit. Glad to say it's Friday.
Enjoy your weekend.

I just saw your reply today, Monday I start my next installment of 21 days Revlimid 5mg. I know it is a small dose, but I still got tired the last two weeks of taking it. I seemed to have to get up to bathroom a little more at night too. They decided to keep me at 5mg for this next 21 days. How are you doing Kathy? Is your collection still on schedule for this next month? I am doing well working, getting stronger every day. I have been wearing a back support while working, it seems to help alot with back muscle pain and fatigue. You mentioned survey of apartments, are you a realtor or property manager?
Have a good weekend : )

You're right, you will be up more at night in the restroom as well as the fatigue. I wasn't sure which med was contributing to it. Yes, I'm still scheduled for next collection. I'm doing good. Jusr came back from training. I caught a cold, but uts better as well. I'm not a realtor, I sell maint. contracts. Glad to see you are still working, I know how important that is.
