oh...and im on 60 mg morphine e r 2 a day..not helping..i do have a new doc that i will have records sent to today if they dont write my oxy..and ill sue them for putting me in w/d's!!!!!!!!!!!

I just saw this post, after reading your post on the main board about waking up to pain this morning, Tuesday, 1/17. I'm so sorry you are geting the run around from these doctors. I would run (sorry to have to make you run) to another pm doctor as soon as possible. Your pain management doesn't work for you and you need a doctgor that will prescribe the right medication for you. You know what works obviously for your body, and sprewing crap about deaths from oxycotin is not helping you. You need a supportive pm doctor. Have you tried long acting (time released) oxymorphone or one of it's sister meds? I take pain meds twice a day, every 12 hours to keep me pain free, and have break through (instant relief) medication that I take for when my pain becomes unmanageable from the time released dosage. I had to kiss alot of frogs (try different pain meds) before I found the right cocktail for me. I think you need a pm doctor that is willing to try you on some other medications. Especially since the morphine isn't working. Good luck sweetie!

hey girl....im updating this...i saw the new doc...he put me back on oxy but...his office will only write for 3 more months....long story short..i found new clinic..my records from current finally made iot to pcp now today shes sending therm to new clinic thaty can get me in in time for med refills,im only hoping he will keep me on the oxy and try another long acting drug...

good. When we talked on the phone, you sounded like you had a good plan. Like you plan on doing, I would discuss Opana. I take 40 mg. twice a day. I still need breakthrough pain meds occassionally, and then I take Opana ER. The combination seems to work 90% of the time. I'm glad this issue is getting the attention that it deserves. Im on oxycontin 30 extended release, take 1 every 12 hrs and I'm allowed 3 a day 15mg roxicodone. It took me nearly three years to get this medicine. Nothing else they tried worked. You have to stick to your guns in be consistent with them and tell them your medication is not working. I know the pain clinics are under a lot of FDA regulations now so it's hard to get good medications because so many people that abuse them. It is not fair to the ones that really suffer.

FDA needs to step aside and let people decide what they are willing to take. This is a very huge issue that really needs some heavy-duty addressing. Even things like vitamins are being affected. These people have way to much say over our personal choices and it's getting worse all the time. I sign petitiions as they come up but I'd like to do more. If we want pain killers, it's our choice. If we want vitamins, it's our choice.

I'm so sick of these SOBs that I quit taking the morphine ER. It wasn't doing as much as it needed to so I cold turkied off of it not long ago. I have fired my doctor as she is an ASS, calling me up on the phone screaming at me. These doctors get away with abusing people like us BECAUSE THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT. No one knows what goes on during your "visit".

Sick to death of all of it. I really wish I'd just plain *check out* permanently rather than to continue living with this damned peripheral neuropathy and no support whatsoever from anyone, esp. the Chronic Pain group. *barf*
