hi fairydust......my daughter is a carrier of mrsa....I don't know what they have advised you or if they tried antibotics....are you a carrier....
I know we don't know usually where it came from....its just laying around places, we have no idea how my daughter got it....she now gets boils in many places....they are painful....
I had heard they could do intervenious antibotics but they never have done that for her....

I had mrsa and staph infections all over me. I scrubbed myself with dial antibacterial body wash and used a clean rag every night. Use the hottest water you can handle. When I say scrub I mean SCRUB!!! Also stay away from sugar. It feeds off glucose. Take plenty of vitamins and just keep it clean and covered. Hand sanitizer and just paying special attention to where you touch and make sure everything stays clean. Its not your fault we all carry staph.

I've had it for a few years now....very sick twice. In the hospital once but was admitted for other reasons as well. I believe I got Community MRSA from the fact that my husband and I are salvage people. He is in dumpsters all the time. We take care with hygiene and I wear gloves all the time when touching items that have not been sanitized. I am a picker, yep like OCD picker! I also just joined the trichtotillomania group which is for people who pick the hair out of their heads. Not fun. But wanted to say HI and let you know that it isn't all that bad. My husband still doesn't have it. And I am just very laid back which is kind of the opposite of having OCD problems but I wash my hands all the time, have a lot more laundry to do since diagnosis (towels etc. I consider them dirty after one use) and I don't feel any anxiety over it nor do I feel like I'm strapped with a lot of extra precautionary things to do. I just wash my hands a lot. Did I say that already? Its key, just wash, and don't touch stuff so much. :O) oh, and do not pick your nose. lol, that is where the bacteria live so make sure to throw away Kleenex etc. very carefully so that others are not exposed. Tell your b/f to go research MRSA a little. Unless you are someone who has other extreme medical problems that will require hospitalization and lots of surgery its not a big deal.

I am in a similar position except when i was diagnosed my husband was over seas. Severe anxiety, fear and sadness succumbed me. It was completely consuming (and now 3 weeks later it has gotten better). I had got bit by something when I went to go visit my mother, (DONT KNOW WHAT STILL AND ITS DRIVING ME NUTS) but the bites some how got MRSA. Ive been working 50+ hrs a week (not including commute) for nearly 2 1/2 months so thats how i am assuming my immune system was suppressed. Honestly, I went to the ER for the bites bc they were SO painful. I insisted on getting them cultured, and I'm grateful I did, bc they diagnosed me with CA-MRSA- community acquired and put me on 300 mg of clindymysin 4x/day every 6 hrs. My only advice is be honest with your man, be diligent on personal hygiene, use one small towel to wash body and one to wash mrsa wound with Hibicleans. ISOpropyl 70% has become my BFF. I bought Lysol hydrogen peroxide cleaner. Im super conscious of labels and D-Values (amt of time it takes for cleaning products to eliminate fomites on inanimate surfaces) typically 10 mins wet. I stripped my bed/pillows/sheets/ and threw them in commercial size washer / dryer on hot water/ hot temp. bleach my washing towels weekly. I keep it covered as it is in a spot where it is irritated easily. Im sorry but its not easy dealing with this. Ive amped up my probiotic usage daily. ACV/honey tonics at night, alcohol/hydrogen peroxide directly on wounds . hibicleans 2x/day. its a lot of work. Im off antibiotics atm, but i take olive leaf extract and wild oregano oil tablets as added natural antibiotic support.
