Motherless Daughters Community Group
For any daughter who has lost their mother, whether through Death (if it's been one day ago or 40 years ago) or Abandonment, (i.e.-drug abuse, mental illness, physical or emotional abuse, etc.) and is working through the grief process. This group provides unconditional support and understanding from women who have also lost their Moms and who truly care.
Hi All,
Just venting and looking for any advice. My mother's sister who says was so close to my Mom is now best friends with my stepfather. Now the history is - is that my parents of course did not have a wonderful loving relationship and had their ups and downs. After mom's death my stepfather took up to running around town with women I went to high school with ( I am 37) and spending all the life insurance money which wasn't much as fast as possible. He also abused me and my brother with verbal fits when he felt like it. My mother's sister did not live the life nor did she see anything we have endured or my poor mom endured at the end when he wouldn't even come home with food for her. I would have to drive out to our local diner late at night so that she had something after he promised he would bring something home. My aunt doesn't call me nor my brother but is in constant contact with him via phone etc. I think its quite strange and no I don't believe anything romantic is going on. Some people say she is fulfilling some weird thing through him. She said she felt closer to my mother through him. Wow he was the last person my mother wanted at the end when she was so sick. Any clues as to why she would feel close to someone who treated her sister so coldly and her treated her children so badly...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

Thats odd behaviour that your Aunt is exhibiting and I am sure it make yours and your brothers grieving worse and Im sorry for that. The only thing I can think of is that your Aunt is looking for someone to have a relationship with. Yes i agree she shouldnt be with your stepfather considering the way he treated you and your Mum. Some people are very strange

Maybe your Aunt feels comfortable with your stepfather. You know the old saying better the devil you know!
But this must be hard on you.
