Motherless Daughters Community Group
For any daughter who has lost their mother, whether through Death (if it's been one day ago or 40 years ago) or Abandonment, (i.e.-drug abuse, mental illness, physical or emotional abuse, etc.) and is working through the grief process. This group provides unconditional support and understanding from women who have also lost their Moms and who truly care.
I cared for my mum until she passed away 5yr ago. Like you I also wish I could open my eyes & see my mum stood there with open arms to greet me.
She was my best friend & I miss her so much it hurts.
But I know she is with me at all times, In my mind she is with me when I go shopping, have a coffee, & even cleaning the house, as mum liked a tidy house. Its the only way I can carry on without her.
"Big Hugs"
Maybe it is a form of depression...
I miss my mom so much and we too were just starting that whole best friend is my mother thing....... I want to thank you for you post!!
I obviously can't speak from experience but I think that I can relate to some of what you're feeling. As you said, it's not necessarily grief or mourning. Is it depression? Who knows. It just feels like a huge "hole". You just wait for some kind of covering to put a layer over the pain. I suspect, after reading a few of the responses to your post that what you're feeling is absolutely "normal". Doesn't make it any better, any worse. As my matra came to be - "It is what it is", that's what it is! No right, no wrong. It just "is".
I wish I had some magical words of wisdom for you but I don't. I would just keep going with it, talk about it. You've already turned back to MD so that's a positive step. Maybe this whole grieving thing is like the 12-step program. You have to KEEP working the steps - over and over.
Take care and would love to talk with you again.
