Motherless Daughters Community Group
For any daughter who has lost their mother, whether through Death (if it's been one day ago or 40 years ago) or Abandonment, (i.e.-drug abuse, mental illness, physical or emotional abuse, etc.) and is working through the grief process. This group provides unconditional support and understanding from women who have also lost their Moms and who truly care.

Hi MD members,
I haven't been on here for a long time, and just wanted to say it's nice to be back here, and catching up on everyone's posts.
After I lost Mum March 24/11 I was on here all the time, and found it enormously comforting. Then about 5 months ago the grief caught up with me, and I completely fell apart for a few months in every way. Physically, mentally, emotionally, lost the plot. I couldn't come here, I could hardly leave my lounge room. I was suffering from severe anxiety and panic attacks, it was a terrifying time. I didn't understand what was happening to me at the time, but now I know it was delayed grief and trauma, that was just my body and mind's way of coping with it all I guess after almost 18 months of raising my babies and just getting through the days, I couldn't do it anymore. It felt like I was losing my mind, I even asked my best friend one night if I was dying, and she held me and told me 'no honey, this is grief...this is normal'...I had no idea...
Now looking back - although still on shaky ground - I can see how far I have come - but it's impossible to see at the time. I know there are many more tough days ahead, but I am not as terrified of the roller coaster now that I know the bad days are temporary and will pass, and there will be an easier day soon. I was so scared of how far I would fall into the grief I wouldn't allow myself to jump off. My psychologist once told me 'when you are falling, dive, and when you need to comeback up for air just come up, then dive in again'....and I think this is what I did, what I needed to do....
It's incredibly difficult. My heart goes out to each and everyone of you. I think you are all amazing.
The biggest help for me in my darkest hours is that mantra - this is temporary, and it will pass......although I know it is so impossible to believe sometimes when you feel so depressed and scared, but I really held on to those words of wisdom from loved ones who have survived grief and heartbreak and come out the other side, and I find it really helps me get through those seemingly impossible days...
And inevitably over time I see the truth of it, whether it's one hellish day, or a hellish week....it does pass, and then I will notice that I have had a good day or a good week....
Anyway, I know a lot of you out there are feeling the same way, so thought I would share.
All the best xxxx

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
