A place of support for mothers with a child incarcerated. A place to share the pain and find comfort with those who are walking on the same hard path. A place where together we can be stronger and help our children cope with their time behind bars.

Is there any mothers here that have a kid that received a long sentence?

I thought I was doing good about my sons incarceration but now it feels like it's catching up with me. I tend to try and live in denial as a coping skill.

I am new to this group and altho my son will not be in prison for a very long time..........I am right with you and know just how you feel............How are you doing today????

Yes my son will be in prison many years. 20+, not really sure at this point, but it hurts the heart and mind like hell !

Hi ,yes my son has 12 more years ,I am devastated , the heartache is still there ,but life seems to get longer in between , but then there are days that never end and so many memories of him ,he calls me once a month , but has a wife and daughter , hopefully they will wait for him ,he is in federal prison.

my son is doing a long sentence life. and its hard. i think he handles it better than i. i am new to the group looking for someone to talk to

I am new here too and hoping to find support. Don’t know what my son is facing yet. So many emotions. I couldn’t sleep at all. We can help each other.

joslyn my son is serving life. So yes I know what you are feeling. It seems unreal most of the time. I often tell him he will come home when i dont know but you will come home. I dont know if this is to calm me or him. I pray God isnt done with him yet.

Hi, I don’t know yet what my son is facing, but I’m scared. Still praying it won’t be as bad as I think, but I don’t know, This is just the beginning of this hell for me. Need others to communicate with that know what I’m going through. I don’t know how I will survive this. I can’t sleep either. Hope we can be a support to each other

I’m here, my son (42) did a long sentence in federal prison and is now out and is living with me…

I’m walking on eggshells as I try to help and he tells me I’m overwhelming him, he wants to sleep all day

The first 6 months were good , now he can’t find work. Went out and bought things to have and now is scared of loosing them

He’s not taking his meds, hates going to his counseling meetings and tells me , out of anger, he’s ready to go back in????

I’m trying to find a support group for me to go to but because my son is an adult they are hard to find….
