Hi! I so understand your pain. It’s hard -painful and you think it’s just a nightmare and wake up and realize it’s life! You certainly have a lot going on with ailing parents that you are the caregiver. You have to take care of yourself as well and your relationship with your husband.. I had read another Mom says take it a day at a time. A minute at a time. I’m trying this and lots of praying. Stay Strong, Keep the Faith. My Son was in prison in another State. I went a few times a year, it was a 5 hour drive. We wrote and talked on the phone maybe every week to every other. That was the only thing that worked for my schedule. and his Uncle God Bless him took the trip to see him a few times. . He got released last year this month ( May). Things haven’t gone well and he’ Back in County waiting for his trial. He is here same State as me. I haven’t seen him yet and have to check on this. Couple calls in the last few months. I just pray that God will watch over him and my family. I’m praying that he wii

Thanks so much for the love and prayers. My son is several states away. I am trying to keep it all together. Some days are better than others. I’m thankful when things are ok but don’t plan it being that way tomorrow. I’m not good at negative emotions so I tend to stuff emotions until they overflow. Then it’s ugly.. i have reduced my work schedule to 3 days a week because I’m overwhelmed. I’m trying to find the positives. He is sober and clean. He is going to AA and Bible Studies. You will stay in my prayers as well. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above anything that we can ask or think and he loves our boys more than we do. Blessings

Hi, So happy your Son is in some programs. Very positives!!! I read your post and am Thankful you replied. My Son the first time he went to prison was two States away and yes it was far and difficult. I would just think of him in there and imagined everything that could happen to him. I swore I could never go thru this again. Here I am again and even more broken, I just got a letter from him tonight with a visitor slip to fill out. I’ll get that in the mail tomorrow. Next week I have a Doctors appointment and I’ll find out when and what kind of surgery I will have, I have blocked arteries and will need either a by-pass or stints on my aorta and legs. I so need to see him before my surgery. I pray I will be strong enough mentally and emotionally to visit without breaking down.; I need to keep myself together and pray I can.. I have another son. My boys haven’t been close in awhile. My oldest son has been very guarded especially where. It comes to his family and home. and I don’t blame him. Do you have any other children’s? My son right now is sober and clean as well. . If only on the outside he stuck to it we wouldn’t be in this place I am angry disappointed and empty . I have terrible horrific days of crying and such despair and wonder how I’m going to ever make it and then it gets a little better for awhile. I can cope and then loose it. again. It’s such a roller coaster of emotions. I pray that the good days we have will stretch into more good days and then even more. I want to share something I had read , it was called the. 7 Stages of grief. I’m some of them into 1.. My personal train wreck : (. I want to work on this and I hope and pray my son will get involved in some programs the prison offers. I also go to a support group for the last month or so. “ Learn 2 Cope. “. My situation has elevated to more with my son in prison. I haven’t spoken yet but maybe soon. I’m glad I went on here with my sister in laws suggestion. I really can’t keep dumping on her so that’s why I started to reach out. She and I are great friends and need to keep it that way. She’s such a great support. How is your Husband doing? One of my biggest battles is with trust. When I fell the anxiety and fear rising I try to tell myself to choose trust. The future is uncertain but we have a known God. I’m trying to discipline myself to choose trust and not surcome to the fear and anxiety. It is a definite work in progress. I made baby steps at work today. It’s not easy. My son is the oldest of 3.and the only boy. My oldest daughter is married with two sweet little boys. On is three and the other will be a year in June. She has a masters degree and an amazing kid. She lives in another state so I FaceTime often. My youngest just married in February to a sweet guy. The live close to me. My son has 3 girls (13, 9, and 18 monthes) They are out of state as well, I miss my grands but have to be here for Mom and Dad. My husband and I married in 2007 so the kids were grown whe he came into my life. He loves the kids like they were his own. He’s an over the road trucker and we’re are on opposite coast tonight. He is trying to get on a dedicated run so that he would be home more and stay closer to home. I’m praying for you. God is our refuge and strength a very present help in the time of trouble. My pray is that we believe and trust in the love of God. I’m believing in a new heart for my son. One that is yielded and willing to submit to the God who can save and restore him.
