Is anyone watching Dr. Phil right now march 17th? There is a girl being held at Boston Childrens Hospital against her parents will because the hospital claims there is no such thing as Mitochondrial Disease! This is proof we are ignored by a huge part of the medical community and Im just tired of it. A child should be without her parents and gravly ill? WRONG. Mito is real, this girl needs help please spread this word. This family needs help I hope you all pray they get it because this is the sadest thing I have ever heard and most unjust...

Uhh...Dr. phil vs. Children's? I thnk I would err on the side of Children's. They treat all types of mitochodrial and metabolic diseases, as well as innumerable other conditions in children. They saw my daughter within hours after her birth, and her care was overseen by the guy who wrote the book on treating her condition.
Please don't let a television show dissuade you from sending your child to Children's. If you are sure your child has a mitochondrial disease, get a referral to Mark Korson at Floating Children's Hospital (now part of Tufts Medical Center) in Boston. He and his team are wonderful.

Boston General said there is NO SUCH THING as Mitochondrial disease. I do not have a child yet and things like this make me afraid to have a child with mito. I would caution you to read all reports about this hospital before taking a child with mito because they could take your child away. This is what happened to this family. An ER doctor said this child does not have Mito because it is not a real disease so CPS was called. If you don't believe me look on CNN and FOX news and may other places. What they are doing to this child is sick so read your facts before placing this comment.

    I went to the doctor a while ago to see about my allergies. He rubbed my arm and stuck things under the skin. Nothing. He poked and prodded, his phlebotomist drew so much blood people thought that we were dating. The tests all came back negative. Then one day I went back and I told him that I had found the cause of my allergy.It turns out, I am allergic to betrayal.
