Did you name your baby?
I lost my daughter at 21 weeks due to an incompetent cervix. It was absolutely heartbreaking and I blamed myself for awhile but I didn't do anything to cause it. When it comes to death we want answers and we want to blame someone, anyone because it is not fair.
It took me a LONG time to realize people who haven't experienced a similar loss (and even some who have had similar losses) don't understand. They also are trying to help you and don't realize it's not helpful and that it is hurtful. I have heard it all and sometimes these comments are downright jaw-dropping. No matter how you look at these insensitive comments they are still hurtful.
I found doing things in honor of my daughter helped a lot. I also cried a lot. I want you to know that even though this has been a nightmare and you have a long road ahead of you with learning to live after to loss of a child but it does get easier. If you need to talk about it I am here to listen.
I am really sorry for your loss. I have had two miscarriages, several years ago. I am still dealing with processing them, which is why I have joined this group. My experience with the second was also very terrible. I still have flashbacks and my mind goes over it at night. Here are some things that help me:
*Talking to other ladies who have been through miscarriage, my mom included
*Talking to the babies I lost and telling them how much I love them and wanted them
*Naming the babies
*Praying for the babies (doesn't even have to be religious, you can send loving wishes to them)
*Recently, I got a little keepsake to remember them by, because I didn't have anything tangible except for one ultrasound picture
Much love to you.
