I wanted to hear from anyone else to see their experiences with a vanishing fetus that was NOT a twin.
I went in at 5 wks 5 days and they saw the baby and heartbeat, it was very small but they were able to get it. Then went back at 6 wks 2 days and again the baby measured perfectly and we saw a heartbeat and the baby with no problem, and it was a strong heartbeat. Then I went back at 7 wks and 3 days and they couldn't find the fetus - they said it was mostly likely a vanishing fetus - but what I find strange is 1. I've only heard of vanishing fetus with twins 2. It vanished within a weeks time 3. The sac is there and is the exact same size as my ultrasound when I was 5 wks 5 days. I have NO spotting (but am on progesterone) and NO bad cramping, I do have some light cramping here and there but very light and it almost feels like stretching of such which I know is normal.
I go back tomorrow for another ultrasound I should be 8 wks 3 days - I'm just wondering if anyone had this experience and then they were able to find the baby later again. I was told a story from a good friend of mine this weeked and she said that someone she knows had same exact thing and went back 3 weeks later and the baby was there and fine - and now has a healthy son.
Any stories or advice would be great - thank you ladies!

Although this has not happened to me personally, I do know someone who has gone through this. My aunt was five weeks when she found out she was pregnant with her second child, they found his heartbeat and could see him. She felt slight cramping around her ninth week of pregnancy and booked another ultrasound. They could not find him, but could find the sac. He was hiding when he implanted himself in the lining of the uterus (this is how she explained it), she went for the ultrasound at nine weeks and there he was! Strong heartbeat and all. :) He is now a 14 year old happy big boy!
