Today I found out that I am in the middle of a miscarriage. I would have been 6 weeks today. I went to the emergency room two days ago because I had severe abdominal pain and I was bleeding. They did a pelvic exam and ultrasound. They told me that my cervix was slightly open and I was going through a threatend miscarriage but my hcg level was over 34000. I was happy because the numbers were up and there was still a chance for a successful pregnancy. Well I went to the emergency room again today and they took blood samples and my numbers went down. I'm suppose to go tomorrow for more blood work to check my hcg levels again. I was hoping and praying that this pregnancy would be successful. My due date would have been the day before my birthday. What's sad is that my first pregnancy, my due date was suppose to be on my husband's birthday. I'm sad because I starting to think that maybe I'm not suppose to carry a baby. I know this is silly talk but it's how I feel at this moment. I don't know how to deal with this again. It's hard because I only have my husband here. The rest of my family is back home in SC and I have no friends here. I feel like giving up.

First of all you can't give up on your self. That is the most important part of all of this. I had my second miscarriage on Jan 22nd. I know that this brings up the loss of the firtt and really makes you question everything- whether you can have a child... whether you will be a mom... everything. I would suggest going to an infertility doc to get the answers. They will be able to test you and your husband and give you the answers that deep down inside you need. I finally had the courage to call and make that appointment for myself and just by making that call I feel better inside. I got tired of the sadness, disappointment and the thought I would never be a mom. Find those answers for yourself. Take the next step which will bring you closer to becoming a mom in the long run. I am sorry that you are going through so much sadness right now.

Thank you harpee8. I know I shouldn't give up but at that moment I felt like it. I felt like a failure once again. I'm going to give myself some time and then I will see a infertility doc. Thank you for your kind words.

i know how you feel but giving up isnt goin to help.i had my second miscarriage on oct.1st. i know its hard and you think its never going to happen but if its meant to be it will happen. I know that sounds dumb but it has to be the truth or at least thats what everyone else keeps tellin me. I agree with harpee8 going to the doc to get answers that may help you feel better. i do hope you get answers that will help you not worry so much in your next pregnancy.Im sory for your pain but i hope all is resolved and you get your wish of a bundle of joy

I am in the same boat as you are. I just recently had my second miscarriage (missed miscarriage at 11.5 weeks) within a 3 month period and all of my family lives at least 8 hours a day. I cannot help but worry constantly about my future ability to have a child. My doctor is going to do testing at my next visit to try to determine why this keeps happening to me. I take comfort in knowing that there might be a cause or else I have just had really bad luck. Don't give up your dreams of being a mother. One of my 90 year old patients (I am a speech therapist that does home care) told me that she had 2 miscarriages and a still born and despite these misfortunes she went to bed every night and prayed that she would have a baby.....even when she was devastated, she never lost hope. After all of this she was blessed with a healthy son. Although it may be hard to be positive now, I have taken great comfort in her advice and continue to pray each night that I will be blessed with a healthy baby soon.

Don't decide now, I"ve had 3 miscarraiges, and ectopic pregnancy and 2 healthy kids. I always told myself that for some reason I wasn't supposed to have that child when face with the loss of a pregnancy. That doesn't mean that either one of us won't be blessed with a healthy baby someday. I think that God has a special little person that he's hand picked just for you, and you'll have that little child when it's time. Pleas don't get me wrong, this doesn't diminish the loss of a baby or pregnancy. It's just what I fall back on when I'm faced with such dissapointment. Good luck!!
