I went in for an 8 week ultrasound to be told that something didn't look right and they couldn't find the heartbeat. I was told to come back in a week to see how things were progressing in order to see if either I was pregnant less time than we first thought. I waited a week and went back and it was confirmed. They had done an ultrasound and found that my uterus was starting to collapse already. I was on temporary medicaid waiting for my full state's medicaid which meant that the tempoarary medicaid didn't include payment of a D&C which I had to pay for myself. I couldn't afford the D&C so I waited it out. Which was a very long time almost four weeks knowing I had a pregnancy that wasn't viable. I was devastated. I went in for another appointment and we discussed other methods such as medication, I was in the middle of final exams so I asked if I could wait until I was done my exams my doctor told me yes until I started to discharge black blood and they were worried about infection. So I completed my finals as early as I could and took the medication. Nothing much happened for almost 5 days until one day I started to cramp and it got worse and worse and worse. The pressure was horrible, essentially I went into full blown labor and was losing a lot of blood, i was in such a bad spot I actually had to lay in my bathtub and just bleed out because I was dizzy and nauseous from the pain and pressure. I finally had to go to the ER in order to make sure I wasn't losing too much blood. After IV fluids and pain killers I was sent home telling me that it was a process and that i was okay and I would just have to wait. I felt better for the most part until about 5 in the afternoon the next day, the pain came back and exploded in my uterus the pain and pressure was insane, I took the medication that they gave me but it didn't touch it, for another 3 hours or so I struggled and struggled. Than all of a sudden I passed the sac and the pain subsided. It was a horrible experience that I never want to experience again.
