I went to the Dr yesterday for an ultrasound as I am 10 weeks along in my pregnancy. At least I thought. My period is very irregular so I wasn't absolutely positive on the dates. During the scan the tech was very quiet didn't show me anything and told me to go straight to my drs office. I didn't have an appointment I said is everything okay? She told me that my dr left the office but was on her way back to speak with me because she thought this was a matter that should be discussed now instead of waiting over the weekend. Needless to say I was shaking and my heart had sunk at this point. Alone sitting in her office waiting for what seemed like an eternity all kinds of scenarios ran through my confused mind. Finally my dr enters sits and explains. You were pregnant but have apparently miscarried. There is no heartbeat baby stopped growing around 7-8 weeks. She asks if I'm spotting I reply no and she explains I will need a D&C next week. I'm trying to take all of this information in and hold it together all the while wondering why did this happen. What did I do wrong? Did I cause this somehow? I drive home pull in the driveway and sob. My husband and 4 year old daughter are waiting inside. After a very long day and lots of tears here I sit not sleeping thinking about this baby inside of me with no heartbeat no life. Why is he/she still there if it's over? I feel in limbo right now and wonder maybe my dates were wrong maybe they the tech dr were wrong. Maybe I'm struggling with coming to terms with my loss. I just stopped writing this to use the bathroom and there is a little blood. Is this the beginning of my miscarriage? Please anyone out there who knows how this feels do you have any kind words or support to offer.We hadn't told people yet as we're waiting for first trimester to be over. I feel very alone right now and my husband is grieving in his own way. In fact we can't even talk. Thank you for taking the time I know this is long. Guess I had a lot to say.
That sounds like the beginning of the miscarriage. With my first one in July, I spotted for a couple days before the actual bleeding started. I was very lucky and everything went smoothly and I wasn't in any pain besides some mild cramping. Two days after the bleeding (red blood) started I passed tissue what I am assuming was the babies (I was pregnant with twins). I spotted on and off for another week and then passed another piece of tissue. That is when my levels went back to zero and I stopped bleeding. The continuous bleeding was the hardest part for me. It felt like it was never going to end. But after it stopped, it was like I was at peace and felt much better about everything. Still sad, but felt much better.
I am currently going through my 2nd mc in a row. or that's what we think is happening. Baby was measuring behind again when I went in Monday for my 7 wk u/s. I go back tomorrow to make sure. This one has not started on its own though, so if I get bad news again tomorrow I will be taking the pill. I am praying that it goes as smoothly as the first even though I am using the medication.
You WILL get through it though! I promise. Just takes time.
