Miscarriage Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have experienced the traumatizing event of a miscarriage or a stillbirth. Miscarriage remains one of the most common complication of pregnancy, but that doesn't make it easy to deal with. Join the group and find support in the company of others who know what you're going through.

Yet at the same time I know it is hard to escape with Mother's Day commercials everywhere, etc. etc..........
My advice would be to make it a day for you. To make it a day about self TLC.
Also, I really like the Still Standing website www.stillstandingmag.com
And today I saw this:
"A loss of life does not mean a loss of love.
You will always be a beautiful mother."
I know it's not in the capacity that you want to be a mom right now...a grieving mom versus a child to hold in your arms.
But you are a mom and I say if it's too hard to disregard the day altogether, do something special for yourself on Mother's Day to honor that you are a beautiful mother.
A friend recently told me about a website where you can buy a bracelet that has the birthstone from the month you conceived, a birthstone from the month of the loss, and a birthstone from the month of the would have been due date.
Little things like this can help a lot.
Thinking of you.
I actually just got back from my grief counselor. We spent almost the whole time talking about things that could help me get through this weekend.
I ordered a necklace last week from this website. https://www.etsy.com/shop/bugaboojewelry
It should get here this week. It felt like I needed something that would be a token of the child I lost that I could keep near my heart. It's something small that I don't have to explain to anyone because they won't know what it symbolizes, but it will be full of meaning to me.
My counselor also suggested coming up with an activity or something to do with my husband to mark the day.
She also said that it is important to take the pressure off of yourself about pleasing others. I have 2 stepkids that live with us full time. I was so worried about them feeling unappreciated or something. But she reminded me that the pain of loss that will come with this weekend is not about them. I need to determine what I need to help me get through this experience and then be an advocate for myself.
Take some time to figure out what will help you and then do what you need to help you get through it. I will be thinking of you.
