When my mom came to the Dr's office after my husband and I found out our baby died she hugged me and cried. Then in the car on the way home she shared about her miscarriage. She cried and she did things for my husband and I like ran errands and etc. Your own pain wouldn't be getting in the way, grieve your babies and grandchild with your daughter. Open up and share your story with her it will help. It helped me, I felt so abnormal until the strongest woman in my life (my mom) shared her story with me. I too, was pregnant with my parents' first grandchild and that baby is now in heaven. I don't think I would be doing 1/2 as well as I am without my mom opening up and sharing her story and tears with me.

i knew about my mom's m/c or loss of a baby is more accurate since i was much younger. i know that when i lost my first she was lost. she was in so much pain because of hers and because of knowing the pain i was going thru. it was hard for me but she was there, she took care of me. i probably would have felt worse not knowing. i wish my sister would have survived but she didnt, and my baby didnt, but my mom was there for me and i could not have done it myself.

Hi. I lost my son at 16.5 weeks gestation in 2004. It made me feel good when people cried with me. It was important to me that other people loved my baby tpoo and that i was not alone in my pain over his loss. I also talked about it a lot and often repeated myself and it helped and when people made me feel comfortable about it that was an amazing relife.
My daughter is now 27 weeks pregnant and i have been an emotional wreck. I thought i would be better after she hit 17 weeks but i'm not. She has been telling me how much she is moving and it makes my heart flutter every time thinking about what can happen. Of course i have not mentioned any of this to her.

It has been 2 years since my angel was born. My mom was their with me at the hospital and supported me every step of the way. I work in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and I find myself crying with the families that loose their babies in the nursery. Just give her a lot of love and be their with her when she needs a sholder to hold onto. She will understand if you start to cry yourself about your losses in the past. I will keep you all in my prayers and let your daughter know if she needs to talk we are all here for her and for you.

with you crying over your own babies that live in heaven she will truly see that she is not alone and that you understand and know how much pain there is...my mom never had one so she was like whats the big deal and stuff like that...yet my soon to be mom in law lost her first and oldest son due to still birth and was right there helping and doing what she could...

My mom didn't have a m/c, but had an ectopic pregnancy. When I called her and told her that I had to go in for a D&C I never once felt that she was hurting more for her lost child. She held me, cried with me, and got mad right along with me. You have lost the baby too, it was your grandchild. If you are sincere and honest with your daughter I don't think that your daughter will feel anything but supported. Just be there for her and always let her know that you love her & that her feelings are normal. She and you will be okay.

I agree with DotsMama: share your story. just be there for your daughter. let her cry and vent and just hold her. i am sorry to hear about the MC.

My mother and me had just gone through my step sister miscarrying one of her twins and then had the other pass away 6 months later only to have my other sister lose her child a month before i also had a miscarriage. as soon as the doctor told me there was no heart beat i called my mother. she left work early just to come with me to get the D&C. i knew she was hurting but she didnt let it show. she just kept reminding me that it wasnt my fault. and that is all i really needed. my mom had also miscarried 3 times so it was really hard for her to see 4 grandchildren leave this earth. but she was there for each one of us, reminding us things always happen for a reason. she said that some babys come to mothers only needing to be loved, and i gave my baby so much love that she was ready to go back to heaven. just remind your daughter that it wasnt her fault and that she made one angle very happy.

Miscarriage can feel so terribly lonely, anything you can do to help her not feel alone, like sharing your story and listening to hers would be an incredible gift.

It's nice to know that your there for your daughter in her time of need. I called my mother to cmae help me when I was cramping and in pain (she didn't know I was Pregnant yet) when she got to my house and i told her what was going on she said to me "I don't know what your doing to YOurself" like i choose for this to happen. I wa slooking for support and i didn't get any from the one person that it should have come from. So be there for your daughter even if its just for a shoulder to cry on I'm sure she needing it and will love you more for it.

Just knowing that she is not alone will be a great comfort to your daughter. Knowing that you have gone on living after such a loss will give her hope for herself.
