On thursday i suffered a miscarrige i am still dealing with the physically side of it and also not coping well emotinally at the moment.
I work casually in the retail industry so i deal with alot of pregnant women and babies so im not ready to go back into that environment.
My partner took in my medical certificate to my work as i didnt want to deal with every1 saying how sorry they were. I have since been told by my boss that i should be over it be over it by now (it happened less than a week ago) n back at work and maybe i should look for another job. I am mortified that any1 could be so heartless my boss is a mother doesnt she know how painful this is and what im going through. i cant even leave the house atm. I am so angry this is the last thing i need to worry about right now

I am so sorry you are haveing to deal with this. I too work in retail and know how hard it is to dodge the preggos.I work with 2 male and 2 female mgrs and the females have been the worst, especially the one that just had a baby.She is comeing back to work next week and I am so stressed. You take however much time you need to heal, believe me it doesn't happen overnight, it wasn't a hangnail. If you need more time talk to your DR and he will probably give it to you.

I am so sorry you are having to deal with a heartless boss on top of everything else. It continually amazes me how cruel people can be. This was a precious child we all have lost! Why doesn't anybody GET THAT? Like Parothead said, maybe your dr. can allow you to have more leave. HUGS

I agree with the other posts. Your boss seems very insensitive and ask your doctor if he can write you out of work for a longer period of time.

If you do get additional leave and your boss continues to give you a hard time, you might check in with your human resources department (if your company has one) and see what the policy for medical leave is.

I am sorry - no one experiencing a miscarriage needs that kind of added stress.

I am so sorry. That's awful. I would definitely get the doctor to write you out for a longer period of time.

I was out for 4 weeks after my miscarriage due to some health issues. This isn't something you get over in a week.

Im so sorry for your loss. Hang in there. I had an insensitive co worker my first week back that announced at a meeting right in front of me that her daughter was pregnant and talked about how excited she was. I have since had to console her as she came to work last week in tears bc her dughter lost the baby. I never wished anything like that on her, but she could have never known my pain until she experienced her own loss. We r now very close and talk openly and she now always asks how I am doing, and is sensitive to my feelings. Stay true to yourself and take ALL the time you need

I agree - go to docs! Ive been surrounded by insensitive ppl and today my mum came over and chatted about her friends daughter who is pregnant age 35 - she said its too old (i miscarried 4 weeks ago age 39), she chatted about diagnostic tests the woman had had! Why would she think id care about someone elses baby when mine has just died! Unfortunately there is no time limit for your grief, ive got this far cos ive changed all my grief into anger! I hate everyone who made an insensitive comment and thats a whole lot of ppl! I'll hold that anger for as long as i need to - its my way of coping! Huge hug for you, your boss is extremely ignorant! x

I too miscarried last week :( It was awful and I am so sorry for your pain. My boss' response when I told him: Oh... I thought you had cancer or something.
I couldn't believe it! Being told you have cancer is devastating. Getting your BFP makes you the happiest person in the universe so everything crashes around you when you have a miscarriage. They cannot be compared.
