Miscarriage Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have experienced the traumatizing event of a miscarriage or a stillbirth. Miscarriage remains one of the most common complication of pregnancy, but that doesn't make it easy to deal with. Join the group and find support in the company of others who know what you're going through.
But I will say that it did re-open wounds that really were not even anywhere near closing --- for both my husband and me.
We shed tears. It's sad any time you find out anything about your baby. And so it felt like another piece of knowing her. Which I was grateful for but also felt so torn about at the same time.
I don't regret it for a moment.
But to be prepared, know that it may be an emotional day amidst the sea of already having emotional days.
I had hoped it would give me closure, but it didn't. Because I assumed I would hear her chromosomes were abnormal and "that would explain everything". As if an explanation would help.
Having no explanation actually made me feel worse for a while. It got things really stirred up in me wondering what could have gone wrong and had my brain thinking up all sorts of ridiculous things I could have done differently.
I have a close friend here on DS who found out her baby had a chromosomal disorder. I wouldn't say that finding this out made her feel any better than me finding out things were inconclusive.
But I recall her saying she didn't regret finding out. But it was painful knowing what was wrong with her baby.
I know this is difficult. I think it's a roller coaster of emotions no matter how things turn out. No matter whether you find out or not.
