First period?

Today I finally got my period for the first time since september. I have been dreading this for weeks. In my mind I kept hoping this was all a trick and my baby was really still there.I am emotionally and physically drained. The pain is unbearable. The cramps are so bad I end up curled up in a ball and crying. It hurts to move. Is this noraml? Has this happened to anyone else?

It is so hard to accept my baby is gone. I'm so tired of being asked "it still bothers you" or "are you ok?".What really makes me mad is my mom telling me "you shouldn't be upset you are young and have your whole life ahead of you" Yes I realize that but it doesn't take the pain away it doesn't make it any easier.I lost my baby and nothing can take away that pain.

I am still going through my miscarriage, so I can't help with the period part... But I do understand the loss you're feeling. I had my follow-up ultrasound today, and to hear the word "empty" is just crushing.

It truly has nothing to do with how long the baby was within you, or how many children you have, or how old you are, or anything. It's just a loss. A huge, horrible loss.

I'm so sorry you have to go through it, too. :(

I normally have painful and heavy period, but the period after my 1st miscarriage, was extremely heavy and very painful. So far I think that this is normal, the uterus has to get back into the swing of things. If things get serve I would at least give your doctor a call and make sure things are ok.

I got my first period back last week, I had 4 days of very light spotting than 1 day of light flow and 2 days of HEAVY flow but I only got a mild cramp here or there. I was really expecting the worse but luckily didn't have any real pain.

Try taking some ibuprofen or Tylenol, if that doesn't help then I would call your doctor just to be on the safe side.

This is totally normal unfortunately. The pain will be in your heart and body. I heard the same things as you, you have your whole life ahead of you, and that baby will never be apart of it. They don't realize that this is a terrible burden to bare. You need women like us to help you through this. It's too hard on your own. my pain is still fresh, seems like yesterday and it's been a year in a half. Have a merry Christmas and remember that people who have not been through this do not know the pain. They don't understand as hard as they may try. I will say a prayer for you. Sincerely. Camillemarie
