Miscarriage Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have experienced the traumatizing event of a miscarriage or a stillbirth. Miscarriage remains one of the most common complication of pregnancy, but that doesn't make it easy to deal with. Luckily, it was not that and I didn't have to have another D&C. But it was blood clotting. About a ping-pong ball sized blood clot. They said that it was likely from my body trying to heal (like a scab in my uterus. Ew, I know) OR I was having my period already. Which, they said, was not really common since it was so soon.
If you start bleeding really heavily or have pain (above normal cramping) I say go see your doc and get it checked out.
I just got my period this past week (4/20) which was about a month after my m/c. I still don't really know if what I experienced last month was my period or my healing process... but I think everyone's different. Again, if you're in pain or it's really heavy, definitely call your doc.
Good luck, and sorry for your loss.
About 6 weeks after the D&C, I got my period. My levels didn't drop until them.
I had a 2nd miscarriage a few months later, with that one, I didn't make it to the D&C. That's a whole different story. But even after the natural miscarriage, it was 6 weeks before I got my period.
Everyone is different. My doctor told me it could be 2 weeks or 6 weeks. The only consistent thing that I've heard is that it's usually much heavier than a normal period.
I hope that helps!
Good luck, sweetie. I'm sorry for your loss. We're all here if you need us!
::hugs::
Now, it's been 8 weeks and there's still no sign of AF. I have been charting my temps and other fertility signs and was positive I'd finally ovulated two weeks ago, so I went in for a Day 22/7DPO test to check my progestrone (doc thinks it might be naturally low), only to find that my levels show me as not having ovulated yet at all. So now I'm back at square one. Doc says to call back if AF hasn't come after a total of 12 weeks. Crazy.
I hope you don't have to wait as long as me. If there's one thing I've learned from reading about others' experiences, it's that everyone is SO different!
Make sure you are charting your cycles and flow so that if you are not becoming "regular/normal" you can speak with your doctor.
