Miscarriage Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have experienced the traumatizing event of a miscarriage or a stillbirth. Miscarriage remains one of the most common complication of pregnancy, but that doesn't make it easy to deal with. I'm sad to see that this support group has become so inactive over the years.
It used to be a really tightly knit group of gosh I don't know maybe 30 women or more and we all talked here on a regular basis.
Although let me clarify if that means that many of the women have gone on to have babies, that is good news.
I haven't been on here for a couple of years. And for whatever reason I decided to log in today. I had to create a new password b/c it's been so long and I couldn't remember my old one.
I am no longer TTC. I'm 44. And we decided after three consecutive pregnancy losses to not move forward with our plans. (We do have one living child. She was born in 2006.)
I saw your post and I didn't want it to go ignored. I am hoping that maybe since you last posted you have gotten good news. And if not, know that there are plenty of stories with happy endings and yours can easily be one of them.
I understand the wanting to scream part.
I don't have any religion to push. No worries on that.
I just wanted to say hi and that I will keep you in my thoughts on this journey that you are on.
Everyone's story is different. And I know that with each passing week and month it gets hard to keep your chin up. Very hard. Each two-week wait can be so excruciating. And you can feel like you're living in a tunnel of madness.
But please do know that there is no shortage of stories with happy endings.
I could tell you stories with happy endings even when one was not expected. I have a cousin -- and he and his wife had one pregnancy, which resulted in a loss.
And they tried for many years to get pregnant and then just gave up.
About 10 years after the pregnancy loss, she spontaneously got pregnant. That pregnancy is now a preschool-aged girl.
Usually it does not take 10 years though. So take heart in that. But do know that just because there are disappointing months that that doesn't mean there is not light around the corner.
I too always heard the "super fertile after a miscarriage" line. I don't really know if it's true.
I got pregnant 4 months after a pregnancy loss only to lose that baby a couple weeks later. It then took 8 months to get pregnant again.
My particular story doesn't have a happy ending, BUT let me emphasize that is likely due to my age.
I don't know your age. DS is showing 13 for some reason, and I know that's not accurate.
But I wanted to be able to at least reach out and encourage you.
It sounds like both you and your husband have so much going for you in terms of your health. And it is frustrating to wait month after month to get pregnant.
I am incredibly sorry for your loss -- especially with the timing of it around Mother's Day.
I feel that we as very young women, we live our early adult lives feeling that it is so easy to get pregnant. And then when it comes time to WANT to be pregnant and we are actively trying it doesn't happen nearly as easy as we would hope.
Have you tried using an ovulation predictor kit so that you are crystal clear on your ovulation timing? I found that that helped me a lot. To know when the surge was and what the best days to try would be.
Your comment about how you are the one that most people turn to and that it's hard for you to be vulnerable -- resonated with me.
Sending you encouraging thoughts.
