Bleeding after miscarriage

I experienced my second miscarriage the week of Thanksgiving. I was initially devastated and I still am, but moving on I still have my good days and bad days. I am scheduled to see a fertility specialist Tues (Dec 13). This was a referral made by my OB. She said that usually they wait until the third miscarriage to recommend a specialist, but Im glad that she was sensitive enough to know that I could wait for it to happen a third time.
Ive been bleeding going on 3-wks. I miscarried around 7wks. Is that normal? I plan on contacting my OB Monday to see if she wants to see me.
Im 29 years old and my husband and I have no children. Although Im scared to TTC again, I still want to get pregnant right away.

I am so sorry for your loss. I also went to see a specialist after two losses, but I had asked my OB about it. I went to the RE about two three weeks after my second one, but found out 4 weeks to the day after the miscarriage that I was already pregnant again. I was scared to death it was way too soon (there were four months between my first miscarriage and conceiving again), but I had secretly hoped to get pregnant so I don't have to go through all the testing, but was also then scared I'd get pregnant only to do the testing later and find out there was something I could have done to help sustain a pregnancy. All that worrying and that pregnancy turned into my now 9.5 week old son!
As for the bleeding, I bled for about a week with both, kind of like a regular period. They both happened naturally but with the first they decided to doa D&C, and the second I didn't have one. It didn't make a difference bleeding-wise, but when I didn't have the D&C I had horrible cramps the whole time I bled.

Thank you Mrsanks329! I went to the ER with my first misscarriage and was in great pain. Bleeding lasted about a wk. This time I misscarried naturally, and bleeding is lasting longer than expected. You give me hope that after a second misscarriage I can go on to have a healthy baby, congrats!
