Thinking of you and feeling hopeful for you.
I can understand the concern about cost. Is this laparoscopic surgery or is this something that is done vaginally?
(I'm trying to think of how much my surgeries have cost in the past....)
I could look them up in my insurance claims. I did have a surgery in January 2012...so no deductible met at that time...I want to say that I ended up paying maybe $500 to $800. It was a laparoscopic surgery. But I know all insurance is different. And it also matters about in-network provider vs. out of network.
P.S. While we're on the topic of expenses I thought I'd share that the clouds parted :) and we found out that our insurance company made a mistake with our balanced translocation test claim. And they processed it as out of network instead of in network. So rather than owing $900...we only owe $120.
It is so amazing when something good happens, especially this year :)
I am hoping that your appointment goes well...your questions get answered and you feel good about whatever decision you make regarding surgery. Keep me posted. I will write soon..I got your email the other day.
If this surgery is done like the last one, it will be a hysteroscopy. Last time there was also a laprascopic component to it, as well. I think this serves 2 purposes. One, to make sure that the uterine wall is not punctured during the procedure; and 2, last time he also did exploratory to check everything out on the outside too. But the procedure itself was not done laprascopically. We have to pay the contracted rate from insurance up front up to $5K. Then it is all covered 100%.
I haven't seen anything in the chromosome testing yet so not sure how much that is going to run us yet!
I have had a hysteroscopy done before as well so I know what you are describing. I don't remember how much it cost.
I hope yours isn't terrible expensive. I look forward to hearing what the dr. has to say about your questions and how significant this is.
I too want this to be over and done with for you so you can finally have your baby. I feel hopeful for you!
