Hi Girls
As you may know DH and I have decided to start trying again after loosing our angel last month, we are trying naturally for now and in a month or two we will try IVF again anyway this is what happened...
I spoke to the IVF clinic the other day to set up everything for our FET transfer, the nurse was horrible and made me recount that dreaded day again, and then all she does is just write down the date!
I asked the nurse about genetic testing for DH and I, after all we have absolutely no answers for our loss. The nurse told me it would be too expensive and really they wouldn't consider it until we had three miscarriages, so I asked her about their pregnancy after miscarriage program and she gives me the same answer!!!
Going through this once is hard enough, two more times would kill me and anyway its MY money shouldn't I choose how the hell to spend it, how dare she! so on Monday I am ringing the main clinic in Sydney to have a chat to them about HER and the testing I want done

I get your frustration.
DH and I are going to start trying again as soon as I have one normal cycle. I wish both of us a quick conception and VERY healthy pregnancies and babies!
It is DEFINITELY your money and your decision. I can't imagine going through this two more times just to get answers. I don't want to go through this ONE more time. I told hubby I want to try for one more healthy baby, and after that I want him to get a vasectomy so there's no chance this will ever happen again. It's too devastating.
The RE did tests on me. HSG, Karyotyping(DH too) and thrombofilia work up(blood clotting disorders).
The first blood test showed my chromosomal abnormality.
We then did 5 months of tests because of my diagnoses and it's many non-fertility related medical issues.
Then we did genetic testing through a company called counsyl, they test only 109 genetic disorders with a saliva(spit) sample that you fedex to them. I have 2 disorders and carry another two or three, my husband has none.
My two genetic disorders can cause miscarriage and are easily treated.
My chromosomal disorder is the cause of all of my miscarriages, I'm 99.99% certain of that.
Now i do IVF with PGD and don't have to have another miscarriage.
And I am also considering donor eggs.
My fertility problems are extreem and rare, but it shows that a little testing goes a long, long way.
The advice I got from a friend who'd done IVF herself was this:
Do all you can to get a diagnosis, then realise your limits before starting IVF.
I took her advise and it's saved me my sanity.
