Hi all. I've been a member of the infertility group here on DS for almost a year, and just joined the m/c group. After ttc for over 2 1/2 years, I finally got pregnant through IVF and lost the baby yesterday at 8 weeks. I'm devastated and heartbroken. That was our last IVF attempt, and we cannot get pregnant on our own, so this is a double loss since now I have to not only mourn the loss of my baby, but the loss of any child I might ever have naturally. Feels like my heart is ripping open. I have a D&C scheduled for Friday and am glad they will test the fetus to see what happened.

I am sorry you are in a position to join this group. Even having the support of women who have miscarried doesn't make it any less painful or easier. You are grieving several things and all you can do is take the time you need. You will never get over this loss, but with time, you will get through it and I do speak from experience. I have had 5 losses and I still remember my 1st one so vividly. But the third loss, that one was the hardest, actually. We did an IUI to get pregnant that time and the doctors were sure t was going to stick. We didn't know we lost it til we went in for the ultrasound and there was nothing. I still think about that one, so I know that having a miscarriage after getting pregnant with fertility treatments. I completely empathize with you and my heart is broken for you, DH and I am thinking of your precious little baby because he or she was special. They were a part of you and deserve to be mourned by others as well as the two of you . I believe one of the hardest things about miscarriage is that no one else knows that baby you have created, so you feel alone, but you're not.

I don't know why, but the movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green was a really therapeutic movie for me to watch. And I watched it with my husband and just cried. If you have a chance, watch it.
